The Topotheque of the Upper Austrian municipality of Pregarten in the Mühlviertel went online in time for the “Long Night by Candlelight”. At the start of this Topotheque, a large number of school photos from the 1930s can be seen so that older visitors can remember their teachers and perhaps also their classmates. In addition to the faces, the different clothing styles are also interesting in these pictures: the young men wear everything from a suit to a sweater, the girls from a simple to an elegant dress, and some even wear an apron (practical: you can carry something with it if you gather it together), the teacher wears a traditional jacket. The portraits of the mayors from 1850 onwards are also available. The most frequently asked questions like: “Do you remember when your neighbor’s brother died?” can perhaps already be answered based on numerous death pictures that keep the memory of the population in memory. Take a look for yourself and click through the history of Pregarten, whose Topotheque is sure to grow quickly!
