With the opening of the Topotheque in the market town of Pernitz, another door to the historical sources of the Lower Austrian Piestingtal has been opened. Mayor Hubert Postiasi ceremoniously opened the new Topotheque in the large meeting room of the official building of the market town of Pernitz, accompanied by musical accompaniment. Alexander Schatek gave a few tips on how to use the Topotheque, and then the Topothequers Adolf Michel, Franz Schneeberger and Helmut Schneeberger led the audience on a virtual tour of the new digital treasure trove. A lecture by Dr. Lukas Schretter from the Ludwig Bolzmann Institute for War Research about the “Lebensborn”, which ran a facility in the municipality of Ternitz, brought current research results to the evening. A special feature of the Topotheque Pernitz is the attention to documenting the musical past, which can be found simply by using the search term „music“ in the list of suggestions that is created. Here you can easily forward to hits from the mixed choir to the Heimatland Trio to „The Rockers“, „Pearly Queen“ and the Ortmann „feh-Band“. This makes it easy to „beat“ or „march“ through Pernitz‘s musical memories.
