A / K: Steindorf am Ossiacher- see: Topotheque online

The community of Steindorf is located on the northern shore of Lake Ossiachersee. Its oldest village, Tiffen, was already inhabited in Celtic times and is documented as early as the 11th century. The place that gives it its name today, Steindorf, was first mentioned in 1263. The oldest photo of this new Topotheque, which is even dated before 1860, comes from the time when the area was still dominated by agriculture and forestry. It shows two sisters and thus documents the local costume of that time first hand. For those interested in architectural history, the double mill on Tiffner Bach is definitely worth seeing. Anyone who deals with historical livestock breeding may be able to compare the size and fur of pigs around 60 years ago with the shape of today‘s breeding animals. With the further entries in this young Topotheque, which also provide insights into the recent past, a grid has already been built into which complementary images will fit in well.
