A / OOE: Prambachkirchen: Topotheque online

With the Topotheque of Prambachkirchen in the Upper Austrian Hausruckviertel, another Topotheque has become visible in the LEADER region Eferdinger Land. As much as the already extensive collection contains many memories for Prambachkirchners, there are also some remarkable entries for non-locals. The outside of Rudolf Merwald‘s small photo album is unadorned and simple, in which, as a young teacher, he documented the first efforts for a rare mining venture, namely phosphorite mining, in Prambachkirchen. Another geological rarity is the meteorite that hit the municipality in November 1932 and was even found. Legendary and sunken objects were already being sought in 1910, such as the „sunken Daxberg Castle“. A newspaper article reports about the expedition into the underground passage. If we look up from the geological depths, we will see an airship floating in the sky above Prambachkirchen. Whether the proverbial “black and white” really shows the facts or has the airship been retouched? As an example, look for the two photos – or better: photographic motifs – in the Topotheque in Gmunden and read the comment texts there. As an aesthetic detail, the patterns on the curtain and dress at the „Eitzlmayr“ in 1960 should be pointed out – unfortunately these contemporary design phenomena have not been preserved in color. As a consolation, we can still experience the color world of the early 1970s among the young girls.
