A / NOE: Harmannsdorf: Topotheque online

In the southwest of the region of Weinviertel lies the community of Harmannsdorf, which has now opened its Topotheque to visitors. It starts with the pictures of the field monuments, whose development becomes easy to understand. But there are also many street views that reflect the townscape of the past few years. Photos that are rarely taken due to their everyday content therefore have a special documentary value. The collapsed roof structure of the houses on Schubertplatz may still be remembered by some Harmanssdorf residents, but hardly anyone will have photographed this stretch of street. Documenting the normal creates a treasure for the future that the younger generation will be particularly happy about, because these pictures show the places of their childhood. The transfigured mystical quality that gives places their special character, which is so important especially in today‘s time of trading and transport centers, can certainly also be glimpsed at the Goldenes Bründl (golden well): did Empress Maria Theresia really give her ring back to the mermaid there? Let‘s hope so. The story can be read on the community website.
