A / NOE: Grossrussbach: Topotheque online

The Topotheque of Grossrussbach was opened before the Christmas holidays. The village is located in the valley of the Russbach creek – embedded in the gentle hills of the Weinviertel. In addition to the numerous romantic cellar alleys, the parish church of St. Valentin is one of sights, as is Grossrussbach Castle. The pictures of the Cylinder Club around 1958 will take you directly to the community of Karnabrunn, a cadastral community of Grossrussbach, to get you started with this new Topotheque. In order to get there by train in the winter of 1948/49, the work you see on our cover photo was necessary. We encounter a historical misunderstanding in the front yard of veterinarian Dr. Danzinger: The dating of the image, 1930, is clearly correct, as the clothing and the photos show. But – were people actually using cell phones back then? Probably the lady apparently on the phone is just enjoying her soft fur collar. Or does she even have a toothache? A tragic aftertaste of the photo is, of course, that Dr. Danzinger died a short time later when a horse shied away.
