Neuhofen an der Krems describes itself as the gateway to the Kremstal. The market right of the municipality has been proven since the 15th century. Here Günther Wenth initially prepared the Topotheque on a private initiative in order to explore the interest in this type of collection on the local history of the community and visitors. The already extensive Topotheque also brings to light numerous newspaper articles, a chance hit of which can lead us to the reality of the golden old days: the last line of a small note brings to mind the suffering of child mortality in the 1910s, which today we hardly remember, but whose shadow should also color the historical picture. Cheerful pictures can already be found from 1949 of the 500th anniversary, a celebration at which high politics was also a guest with Chancellor Figl. It goes without saying that almost all areas of a municipality are represented in a Topotheque with well over 2,000 entries. Among them is a special documentation, because it represents the extensive collection of sources on the „Salon Orchestra“, from which numerous documents and files give an insight into the form of bureaucracy.
