This ravine was a "Flötzersteig", also called "Old Road" here. It was the route of the raftsmen who transported their goods down the Danube. The reason for the photo was the filling in of this ravine. © Gemeinde Behamberg

A / NOE: Behamberg: Topotheque online

In the far west of Lower Austria, in the western Mostviertel, lies the municipality of Behamberg, where the Topotheque was presented together with the exhibition „Behamberg 100 years ago“ in the municipal office as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the local volunteer fire brigade. The team made up of Mayor Karl Josef Stegh, Harald Heinzlreiter, Johann Holzner, Hubert Scholz, Franz Putz, Annalena Streisslberger and Head of Office Harald Schwödiauer have put together the first images and documents for their Topotheque, which traces the chronological arc of a view of the castle Steinbach, which has since disappeared into the recent past. Whether it was the visits of the big politicians with Chancellor Josef Klaus or governor Leopold Figl, photos that document everyday working life or group pictures in which some acquaintances or relatives of the previous generations will recognize: a visit to the Topotheque of Behamberg is definitely worth it.
