A / OOE: Traunviertler Alpenvorland: Region starting

In the LEADER region of the Traunviertler Alpenvorland, the people in the communities with their historical pictures and documents have access to a huge cultural treasure that is often hidden in drawers and attics. In addition, there is a lot of knowledge and personal memories. With the Topotheques, the LEADER Region Traunviertler Alpenvorland now wants to digitally secure these treasures and also make them accessible to the public. 50 committed people from the districts of Steyr-Land and Kirchdorf are now building up Topotheques for their 15 communities via a LEADER project. They are supervised by project manager and historian Mag. Siegfried Kristöfl. LEADER Manager DDI Josef Wolfthaler was also a co-initiator: „Above all, I appreciated the social added value of the project – the exchange between young and old, the appreciation that older people experience through dealing with personal stories and memories, but also in general, the strengthening of the community“. The introduction and the first four workshops with Alexander Schatek have already taken place with the active participation of the committed new Topothequers and we can look forward to the results when the first Topotheques in the region open their electronic doors next year.
