A / NOE: Rastenfeld 8,200 entries

The Topotheque Rastenfeld celebrates its 8,200th entry with a press report: Under the motto “History is there for everyone”, the Topotheque Rastenfeld is an extensive and versatile online archive, which is maintained with great commitment by Manfred Österreicher on a voluntary basis and is available to all interested people free of charge. You can search here for keywords, dates, places or topics. The archive contains historical images, newspaper articles, written stories, audio and video files, documents, certificates and old postcards.

Among them are treasures such as a photo of a wind turbine in Mottingeramt from 1935, which was already being used to generate electricity, or a photo of Federal Chancellor Leopold Figl, who travelled to the construction site of the Dobra dam in 1950 to mediate in a strike, and a very special “treasure”, a photo of the opening of the Dobra dam from 18 July 1953, where Federal Chancellor Dipl.-Ing. Ing. Julius Raab together with Ing. Leopold Figl and the Governor of Lower Austria Johann Steinböck in an electric boat on the Dobra reservoir.
