A / NÖ: St. Pölten: Lower Austrian Archives Day

This year, the Lower Austrian Archives Day took place again, which had become a fixed point in the archival landscape in recent years. Among the contributions on November 12, were lectures on the practice of image collections in the municipal archives of Zwettl and Wiener Neustadt, with which Elisabeth Moll and Gerhard Geißl gave an insight into the handling and use of the archives. It was good news for the Topotheque that, thanks to their clear presence, visitors to the Topotheque also find their way to the archives to hand over private treasures that are no longer needed for further storage. A dry but topical subject is long-term data archiving, about whose necessity and possibilities of implementation the Director of the Provincial Archives, Roman Zehetmayer, and the representatives of the company that will take over this activity for the Lower Austrian Provincial Archives gave lectures. A special event, also for ICARUS, was the awarding of the Medal of Merit for the Lower Austrian archives by Provincial Councillor Ludwig Schleritzko, representing Provincial Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, to our Association President Thomas Aigner.
