OOE | Upper Austria honors two Topothequers

The two Upper Austrian Topothequers Anton Brand from Rohrbach-Berg and Wolfgang Sauber from Sarleinsbach were awarded the Golden Culture Medal of the Province of Upper Austria by Governor Thomas Stelzer for their services in the field of culture. The two honorees have long been fixed points in local history work. What began in Rohrbach-Berg 20 years ago with the local history group is still continued today with the Topotheques in the region. Franz Brand, also a mainstay in the “villa sinnenreich” museum and curator in the city archive, runs the Topotheque of the Rohrbach district home association and works in the Topotheque of Rohrbach-Berg in addition to his research. As for Anton Brand, Latin and ancient Greek are the special fields for Wolfgang Sauber that he can use as a historian at Sprinzenstein Castle to process historical documents. Sharing historical knowledge is the premise of the two awardees. Wolfang Sauber also implements this idea beyond the classic communication channels as an active member of Wikipedia. The fact that Anton Brand and Wolfgang Sauber are also significantly building up the local Topotheques is a great benefit. We also sincerely congratulate!
