A / OOE: Vöcklamarkt: Topotheque online

Text will follow after Nov. 8.

Even before its official launch, the new Topotheque for the town of Vöcklamarkt, located in the Hausruckviertel region of Upper Austria, has gone online. This allows guests attending the event on November 6th to get an early glimpse of the diverse subjects and themes featured. The small cover image of the Topothek highlights the cherished tradition of the local watchmaker’s museum — a collection that, with its initial entries, leaves one wanting to see more. As a taste of the variety contained within this digital archive, consider a few specific images: a look inside a 1920s dairy reveals an everyday working environment — not a tiled wall in sight. Another photo, which at first glance appears cheerful —showing two girls smiling at the camera — takes on a different tone when you notice the background. Then there is the image of a carnival costume — one that, beyond any emotional resonance, is physically stifling to even imagine dancing in all night long. The Vöcklamarkt Topotheque is sure to continue growing between now and its official presentation — be sure to check back from time to time!
