For the sixth time, the village regeneration association “Zusammenhalten – Dorf gestalten” from Groß-Rust hosted its summer event “Fundstücke” – this time at the Obritzberg Community Centre.
Alongside musical treasures, there were also topographical ones to discover this year: Since 2019, Helmut Beroun and 13 fellow volunteers have been building up the topotheque of the market town of Obritzberg-Rust – which now comprises over 4,000 items.
Around 120 guests came to listen to the six topotheque curators, who displayed documents, videos and photos from their cadastral communities and guided the audience through the local history. They were accompanied musically by harmonica pupils from Fladnitz, Dunkelsteinerwald and St. Pölten – taught, amongst others, by local councillor Siegi Binder, who picked up the harmonica himself that evening.
Hosted by Angelika Beroun-Linhart, the evening drew to a cosy close with music, stories and a buffet provided by the village renewal association. A wonderful event that brings together different aspects of a community across generations.
