On 26 July 2026, the Georg Gimpl Archive Association in Rußbach am Pass Gschütt hosted the 2nd Topotheque Café.
The association, which manages the Rußbach local Topothek on a voluntary basis, meets regularly to gradually incorporate Georg Gimpl’s vast collection of images into the Topothek. At this gathering, visitors were able to look over the shoulders of the Topothek staff ‘live’ as they worked. New images not yet in the collection were also accepted, scanned on the spot and added to the database. And, of course, as always, special treats were on offer. Given the exceptional heat, simply searching for the tag ‘Schneemassen’ (massive snowfall) provided some mental relief.
As a highlight, the association’s latest project was unveiled at this event: in collaboration with the Rußbach Tourist Board, a ‘Historical Village Walk’ will soon be offered as a signposted circular route – an additional leisure activity for locals and visitors alike.
To this end, interesting spots in the immediate vicinity of the village were identified. Images were sought in the Topothek that show precisely these locations at different times in the past. What did it look like in front of the Rohrmooswirt 60 years ago and 100 years ago? A simple system using QR codes on signposts makes implementation cost-effective and straightforward.
