A / OOE: City of Enns: Topotheque launched

The magnificent and packed Auersperg Hall in Ennsegg Castle was the launch venue for the Topotheque of the city of Enns. After welcoming guests from Mayor Christian Deleja-Hotko and City Councilor Gabriele Käferböck, Alexander Schatek presented the objectives and operation of the Topotheque. Topothequer Karl Riedl provided initial insights into the already extensive collection, which already contains well over 2,000 entries, and co-Topothequer Ferdinand Pay called on all attendees to provide digital insights into their photographic treasures to further condense the city‘s historical mosaic. Already during the preparatory phase, numerous lenders made special visual images of the Enns available for digitization, enriching the source material on the city‘s history.

A club flag with „guaranteed genuine gold“ embroidered lettering cost the hefty sum of 5,000 crowns in 1925, as this invoice shows. The condition of the venue before its extensive renovation is also documented in photographs. Much more is now publicly accessible in the Enns Topotheque, where anyone interested in the city‘s history will find many clues and certainly their own memorable places.
