From the first entries onwards, the public should be involved in the growth of the Topotheque here in the municipality of Gänserndorf north of Vienna. The Topotheque starts with a thematic focus, Bahnstrasse (Railroad Rd.). This makes it clear that there is already a lot of historical material available in the background, which is now being incorporated into the Topotheque step by step, and that in the future a historically detailed insight will be provided for other parts of the town. The small example of Bahnstrasse, if you set the sorting of the Topotheque to „Age: Oldest“, shows a diverse illustration of the street over the years for this limited area. Gänserndorf is one of the early settlement areas for Viennese who wanted to move out of the city, but would still like to live in the surrounding area because their work environment still is in Vienna. The population has increased almost threefold since the 1960s. The Topotheque is intended to offer those Gäserndorf residents who have moved here in recent years the opportunity to deepen their connection to Gänserndorf through images from the town‘s history.
