A / NOE: online now: Schönbühel-Aggsbach

In the heart of the Wachau, more precisely on the right bank of the Danube, lies the historic market town of Schönbühel-Aggsbach. Here, Topothequer Konrad Wiesbauer and his team have prepared the Topotheque as the first Advent box for his community, so to speak, which went online on 1st of December. “History” is that the name Schönbühel was first mentioned around 1100 by the noble brothers Sconinpuchelel. But “Remembrance”, on the other hand, is what the Topotheque of Schönbühel is supposed to support: many photographs are already. Maybe it’s also everyday little things that some still remember: even if a Puch 500 was a very small car, it was probably annoying to have to get out to adjust the rear-view mirror. But at least the back-hinged door may have automatically brought more proximity to this object. Discover hot photos, such as those with swimwear, and equally cold ones, such as those with ice throws. Trade and village life are already represented in many aspects. A special series of pictures with high documentary value should also be pointed out here: the photos of the expansion of the B33 in the 1980s still show the old form of the road and thus several areas of the landscape. These images document places that would otherwise hardly have been handed down in photos. Meet people from back then virtually and look forward to some details from the history of Schönbühel-Aggsbach that may have already been forgotten.
