The historical documents that are administered in the Topotheques have now reached the seven-digit range! Thanks to the mostly voluntary work of the Topothequers and the active participation of the population, it is possible that the Topotheque can fulfill its role in securing and making accessible the private cultural heritage. An essential aspect of the Topotheques operated by the municipalities or their institutions such as archives and museums is that the access to historical sources is in the hands of the public. This means that these photos, videos and texts can be viewed freely by the interested general public as well as by science and increasingly offer the opportunity to find the details of the past that are being sought. For example a certificate of origin from 1924 in Poysbrunn, which is the 1,000,000th entry and which is an example of officially confirmed homeland.
