A / NOE: Laussa: Topotheque evening

Between the Klammerberg descent and the construction of wind turbines was the theme of this storytelling evening, which attracted around 200 visitors. Residents of Laussingen shared personal memories and anecdotes from past decades, bringing a piece of local history to life.

The evening covered a wide range of topics from the history of the community in the Traunviertel Alpine foothills. It began with moving insights into the fate of forced labourers at that time and their subsequent lives. But formative projects from the recent past were also described from a personal perspective – such as the construction of the wind turbines on Plattenberg in the mid-1990s.

In addition to serious and dramatic events – such as the challenging firefighting operation during the fire at the ‘Hinterplatten’ farm – there was also room for cheerful memories. Stories about skiing and the legendary Klammerberg downhill run brought smiles to faces, as did anecdotes about the theatre club.

The storytelling evening showed that behind many historical images and documents lie personal experiences that only take on their full meaning when recounted. Many of the stories told can already be found in the Topothek Laussa – the digital community archive where photos, documents and contemporary testimonies are collected and made publicly available.
