D / Bernau am Chiemsee: Topotheque launched

This year‘s local anniversary – 1100 years of Bernau – is the occasion for the launch of this Bavarian Topotheque in the south of Lake Chiemsee. Archivist Georg Leidel has added initial key points of Bernau‘s history to the fledgling online collection, which now serve as the starting point for further images. The overall view from the north, shown here as the cover image, can easily be enriched with additional views from this part of town. Surely, there are still unique photos slumbering in the homes of families who, during the early days of housing development, photographed their unfinished homes and the topping-out ceremony on what were then Moosbachstraße or Hengelerstraße. In this way, the development of the area becomes visible to everyone, enriching our knowledge of our home place. With everyone‘s help.
