A / K: Radenthein: Topotheque online

A town steeped in history has launched its online archive. Mining activity around Radenthein can be traced back to the late Middle Ages. From 1908 onwards, the magnesite deposits were industrially exploited, leading to the construction of the Radenthein factory, some photos of which are already featured in the new archive. In addition to magnesite, a garnet deposit was also discovered, giving the town the nickname „Garnet Town.“

The town hall construction serves as an example to encourage the addition of further sources to a given topic. From the model – itself a historical example of model-making techniques used in the 1950s – to the finished building, a series of images is already available, and this will surely be joined by more pictures and perhaps even personal recollections. We eagerly anticipate how Radenthein‘s new collection of sources will develop! The question accompanying this image serves as a direct invitation to contribute: Can you help?
