In the Austrian state of Salzburg, the fourth Topotheque in the Pinzgau region, has been opened. The Mittersill town archive and the Felberturm Museum invited to their „Stammtisch für Geschichtsinteressierte“ (a regular meeting for history enthusiasts) to explore the new Topotheque. Town archivist Gundi Egger presented the initial content and explained how visitors can explore the Topotheque. The images in this Topotheque already offer insights into various aspects of the town‘s history: in addition to landscape and structural development, topics such as peat extraction, which ceased in 1963, the Mittersill Passion Play, and, representing the many club activities, a picture of the „Fasching-Eingraben” (a traditional carnival “burial”) are highlighted, encouraging further exploration. The Felberturm, which now houses the museum and event venue and is considered the oldest secular building in the Upper Pinzgau region, can be admired in an old photograph taken when it was still a ruin. One more detail regarding product history should be mentioned: Since tourism brought a diverse mix of vehicles to the region, the two competing products of the same company and year of manufacture, Vauxhall and Opel, can be compared side by side in front of the Bräurup inn.
