A / OOE: Reichraming: Topotheque opening

As part of the municipality‘s 175th anniversary celebrations, the Reichraming Topotheque was presented and made available online during a historical evening at the Aglas farm. Councilor Elfriede Staudinger-Becher and historian Siegfried Kristöfl explained the organizational and functional aspects of the Topotheque. Historians Adolf Brunthaler and Horst Ritt provided a substantive review of Reichraming‘s past, dating back to the 6th century.

The name of the place probably has Slavic origins and means „rich fish stream.“ A symbol that can still be applied today to the quality of an intact natural landscape. With the onset of industrialization, ore and timber from the Rohrbachgraben provided an economic base alongside agriculture. In the 15th century, around 200 master nailsmiths lived in the Losenstein parish, using iron from the Enns River. The bird‘s eye view of the brass factory shows the extent of a factory, supposedly dating from 1814.

One of the oldest views of the town is the painting commemorating the fire of 1846. But there are also many images from everyday life in the more distant past – some older people certainly still have fond memories of the bar at the Damhofer Inn. Accompanied by live music and concluded with a wine tasting, it was a historic evening for Reichraming that appealed to all the senses.
