A / OOE: Pettenbach: Topotheque online

With this new Topotheque, another community in the LEADER region of the Traunviertler Alpenvorland has made its past digitally visible and thus laid the foundation for attracting further memorabilia based on the residents’ interest in the easily accessible evidence of local history. Pettenbach and its surroundings are a settlement area that is thousands of years old, as evidenced by Stone Age and Roman finds. We find the name Pettenbach for the first time in 777 in the foundation deed of the Benedictine monastery in Kremsmünster, where Bavarian Duke Tassilo III. the areas around Pettenbach were handed over to the monastery.

This digital collection from the municipality of Pettenbach begins with numerous aspects of Seisenburg Castle, including old interior photos with furniture as well as photos of decay. This makes interesting comparisons possible with the current state of construction. One presumably involuntary resident of the rectory was the abbot of Kremsmünster Abbey, who carried out unusual research work. See for yourself!
