In the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim, known as the gate of the Chiemgau, lies the community of Halfing with its strikingly designed pilgrimage church of the Assumption of Mary. With this new topotheque, Johannes Guggenberger has put together an impressive cross-section of the place’s past, which was open for virtual visits on a test basis until January 7th. If the municipality of Halfing is willing to take responsibility for the topotheque, it will remain open permanently.A few examples: Halfingers may still remember the music group “The Little Five”, the inn with its regulars‘ table and the flag consecration with the flag maidens in 1950.
